Should I be worried about new virus protection?

I was perusing the internet to kill time and a message appeared that said my laptop has a virus (it didn't specify what it was) and that it should be taken care of asap to prevent from losing any files. The laptop was given to me from my big bro, and I haven't really worried about protection til now. There's a McAfee Security Scan Plus software already installed, but the laptop cannot find any active virus protection. The Windows 7 software site has the BullGuard software free for 90 days, and I want to download that for now, checking to see if it will take care the problem, and then download the 2 year virus protection for $60. Do I need to download a new virus protection? Are there free alternatives that are just as effective and reliable?

Why do Christians Evangelists proselytize so much in 3rd world nations?

I believe it would have to do with the command from jesus to "spread the news to all the world" . That includes the third world. Also, a LOT of missionary work is done within the US also.

Niittymaki should get a chance in tomorrow's game. If Niemi is in net tomorrow, the Sharks will be eliminated. Give Niittymaki a shot. He has looked good in relief when Niemi has been pulled. The other day while training in the Giant Chasm, I encountered a shiny Lunatone. I was extremely happy but too scared to use a move because I didn't want it to faint yet my pokeballs wouldn't capture it. Out of the blue it used explode and fainted. I've been noticing of late some divisiveness amongst presumably the Buddhist community in R/S. Terms like "reptilian" and "thumbs down" for legitimate responses (not those intended to be "funny" or "proselytizing" from obviously non-Buddhists) to a serious question seem to be in vogue of late. As practitioners who believe in the teachings of the Buddha disagreement can be done without being inciteful. Perhaps we should, if we disagree with a posting, write a response stating our position rather than taking the anonymous "thumbs down" route or by being derogatory to a fellow practitioner? If Buddhism is truly inclusive regardless of tradition or school, can't we act in a more Buddhist manner? Your thoughts?

Hard drive caddy type?

I have a thought but I'm not sure it will work. Try to look at the computers parental settings (if the computer has one). That might be the problem because the sims has Crude Humor, Sexual Themes, and Violence which (If your on a family computer) might be locked off. Also, Check and see what your computer is. The sims only work on some computers and some they don't work. Check on the back of the CD box of your sim game and there should be a "System Requirements" at the bottom left above the "T for teens" thingy. And check to see if your PC matches the requirements. Anyone catch sports center yesterday or today? I saw a little bit, but when they were previewing that KC Royals game, they said the pitcher broke like 4 records, but they were embarassing records. One of them was something that hasn't happened to the Royals since 1942 by a certain player, forgot what they said. Also, the announcers said there was some good news in that 19 to 1 loss, that the pitcher was 10 runs shy of something, I didn't hear that part. that I have known for 30 yrs. plus. They are quite aware of the fact that I am Jewish, yet continuously send me Christmas cards, and email requests for me to pray to Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, and to pass this prayer to as many as possible. I emailed one woman quite a few yrs. ago after receiving one of her prayer's, letting her know that although I appreciate her thinking of me with her prayers, that she ought to be cognizant of the fact that I don't pray to Jesus Christ as a Jew, her reply was to omit Jesus Christ and to substitute It for Moses. These woman are educated and have been exposed to many Jewish people throughout their adult lives. My question is, how, If there is any way at this point In time, to handle this. I find this to be a strong indication that these (2) particular woman don't wish to accept me as a Jew. I find this very hurtful. I have only and always sent Christmas wishes, and never have sent Jewish prayers to either of them. What do you think prompts them to do this? Is this a continuous form of proselytizing? I think that depends entirely on how the proselyting is done. If I came up to you and threatened to stab you in the face unless you listened to my message about jesus, then yeah, that'd probably bode poorly for me in the afterlife. If You do it with good intentions, then there's really not much you can do about it.

I think it's very unlikely that someone who studied outside of Korea would be able to become an announcer. The most important thing about being an announcer is pronunciation. This probably takes years to master as is probably practiced throughout college. General knowledge is just as important. It can't be too beneficial to study Korean politics and event while studying abroad. I wouldn't be surprised if most of them can speak some English, but there really is no practical need for English on tv. Also keep in mind that the average announcer is very smart.

I'm 5'5" & about 125lbs. This may be considered a healthy weight, but the weight is mostly in my belly & sides (love handles). I bought a bottle of fat burning pills from dollar general called "super fat burning system". The directions are to take 2 tablets before a meal with a glass of water on an empty stomach. It doesn't specify if you do this before every meal or once a day. Has anyone taken these specific supplements & does it actually work? meaning that a lot of people are repeating "gay is ok, homosexuality is normal" without even trying to back it up with any arguments and the classical response to anything considered anty-gay is something pretty similar to the religious answer "la la la can't hear you, can't hear you godidit", changed a little to "la la la can't hear you can't hear you, you're a bigot". lets take this argument for example. in my opinion "gay culture" (meaning introducing gay characters in all tv-shows, teaching everybody that you are born gay and there's nothing wrong with it etc), can have a damaging effect. even if someone is born gay, (even thou there is nothing to back this up, no gay gene, no biological differences between homo and heterosexual people), the fact is that psychological issues can determine sexual deviations (true for zoophiles, pedophiles etc), and if a kid with some problems and who is a bit socially awkward if exposed to this sort of "gay culture" could think that his problems derive from sexual problems and people instead of telling him to try some therapy first would encourage him and say that his brave for admitting it even if he isn't gay. if you want to say that being gay is normal...ok, but the gay community is the only minority group that are focusing strictly on sexual issues and shout them anywhere anytime regardless of what people think about it. i don't see a lot of heterosexual people walking around with banners that say "i'm straight and proud" or having to specify his sexual orientation in every movie or sitcom on tv. now the question is, does anybody have a more complex opinion on this then "la la la can't hear, can't hear, you're a bigot?"

Don't the TNT announcers see the same thing the viewing audience watches at home? They kept showing the action of a driver on the track, but the announcers seemed oblivious as to what the viewing audience was seeing, and they went on to talk about something totally different. My wife bought a night at a hotel online prepaid. We booked it then decided to stay another night and reserved the second night. When we arrived, they took our credit card number and our prepaid printout for the one night and we gave a $100.00 deposit for incidentals.When we checked out, we got our deposit back and checked out. I live in an apartment complex in TN. I recently had surgery and ALWAYS make sure I lock my front door when my partner is at work. I wouldn't be able to fend off an intruder if need be. Anyway, this past Saturday after my partner left, I locked the front door and jumped in the shower. Ten minutes later, I heard a VERY loud banging sound right before I got out. I put on a towel and walked into my living room. The very first thing I did was check the front door, which I found to be unlocked. I then proceeded to look out of my windows to see my maintenance man, running like a madman to his truck. He got in, then took off like a bat out of hell. I locked the door again and called the office. I didn't get anyone directly, so I went down there. The associate who was there said she did receive a plumbing work-order for apt 305 and he could have gotten the numbers mixed up, despite working here for the past 20 years. I've worked in property management and said I can totally understand that. I then asked her what type of problem 305 was having. She said 305 didn't have any water pressure, that the maintenance man was POSSIBLY checking my unit to see if this was the cause of the problem OR, that he was "looking for something else." Thinking this was odd, seeing as 305 isn't on my side of the building, I said okay, I just wanted to make sure he just wasn't coming in just because. She then said, he always knocks and announces himself before coming in and never enters without your permission, or if you are not there. Okay, but that is exactly what happened. I didn't answer my door or give him permission to enter and he did anyway, while I was in the shower. 305 is WAY down the hall and is directly across from 306. Wouldn't it have been a little more logical to check the closest units first, instead of one that is 3 units down? If this WAS the case, why did he slam my door, leave it unlocked, speed off in his truck, rather than waiting outside my door for a couple of minutes and then re-knocking, to check my unit? There are over 250 units in my complex, split between 7 buildings and he just decided to check mine just because? That and he was possibly looking for something else? Like what? I'm not buying it. This isn't the first time I've come home to an unlocked door, while everything in my apartment is either on, or things were thrown around, but never taken. They said they can change my locks, but what good is that when maintenance would have a key? What can you say about my current status as a college freshman?

I am a computer engineering student, and I'm studying at a computer college (I would not like to specify the name for privacy) here in the Philippines. I graduated from a science high school here in our province. As many people know, the curriculum in schools like that are more advanced than national high schools'. So I used to experience a slightly "advanced learning", if you know what I mean. Then when our classes have started, the lessons introduced to us were a bit easy than expected. I looked forward for some harder lessons, but what I got are the basic ones. I am kind of disappointed until now and I have nothing else to do but to adapt with the education they give. Besides, I think the essence of college education are those killer essays, brain twisting math problems, etc. but I guess it really depends on your school. My solution is to not just rely on everything that the school will offer, I will challenge myself and push harder for further education. Good thing there's the internet with lots of websites that can help me with their learning resources. And another thing, the reason why I want to challenge myself is to unleash more of my hidden potentials and to be competent.

Everyone said she was but in the mental institution because she is diabetic, the kind were you check it all the time and need and insulin machine. I live in an apartment complex in TN. I recently had surgery and ALWAYS make sure I lock my front door when my partner is at work. I wouldn't be able to fend off an intruder if need be. Anyway, this past Saturday after my partner left, I locked the front door and jumped in the shower. Ten minutes later, I heard a VERY loud banging sound right before I got out. I put on a towel and walked into my living room. The very first thing I did was check the front door, which I found to be unlocked. I then proceeded to look out of my windows to see my maintenance man, running like a madman to his truck. He got in, then took off like a bat out of hell. I locked the door again and called the office. I didn't get anyone directly, so I went down there. The associate who was there said she did receive a plumbing work-order for apt 305 and he could have gotten the numbers mixed up, despite working here for the past 20 years. I've worked in property management and said I can totally understand that. I then asked her what type of problem 305 was having. She said 305 didn't have any water pressure, that the maintenance man was POSSIBLY checking my unit to see if this was the cause of the problem OR, that he was "looking for something else." Thinking this was odd, seeing as 305 isn't on my side of the building, I said okay, I just wanted to make sure he just wasn't coming in just because. She then said, he always knocks and announces himself before coming in and never enters without your permission, or if you are not there. Okay, but that is exactly what happened. I didn't answer my door or give him permission to enter and he did anyway, while I was in the shower. 305 is WAY down the hall and is directly across from 306. Wouldn't it have been a little more logical to check the closest units first, instead of one that is 3 units down? If this WAS the case, why did he slam my door, leave it unlocked, speed off in his truck, rather than waiting outside my door for a couple of minutes and then re-knocking, to check my unit? There are over 250 units in my complex, split between 7 buildings and he just decided to check mine just because? That and he was possibly looking for something else? Like what? I'm not buying it. This isn't the first time I've come home to an unlocked door, while everything in my apartment is either on, or things were thrown around, but never taken. They said they can change my locks, but what good is that when maintenance would have a key? My mom said to put a chain latch on the inside to use when I was inside, but that wouldn't keep anyone from coming in while I'm gone. I looked into tenant privacy laws in TN, while no specified times are listed, it did say the landlord or other persons cannot enter without permission, unless it is an emergency situation or at the minimum a 24 hour written notice. Fire, severe water leak, extermination, etc. What do you think? This definitely seems illegal to me. What would be the best way to prevent this from happening? Worst case scenario, I'll have to pay almost $600+ to break my lease early. I've lived here for a little over two months.

I am Jewish- I have many Christian friends and acquaintances-?

I have written this question before on YA.they are more than aware that I am Jewish. My question is this; why do I continually receive so very many email prayer's always asking me to pray to Jesus, pictures of Jesus floating down a church isle, asking me to say hail Mary's, asking me to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as my savior? I have mentioned many times that Jews don't believe that Jesus is their G-d- why do they just continue to send these? Do they refuse to comprehend, or do they not care to accept the fact that I don't feel ,nor believe that Jesus is my G-d? They have been considerate in so many other ways, I often feel that they are doing this subconsciously. Could they resent the fact that I,m not in agreement, or might their thinking be flawed as to what Judaism really is about? I have told them on more than one occasion, that this is not my belief, and lo and behold, another one comes. I noticed that most of the recipients of these emails, with myself as the exception are Christians. I really do care for these people, and I find that I,m quite uncomfortable with repeating the "same ol" "same ol"- I wonder often if they think that their prayers are fine, because they show caring, and loving? I also became friendly with a woman who is on a website for people that are supportive of Israel. She is a Christian woman. We have been emailing one another for well over a month, discussing, anything and everything pertaining to Israel, art, jokes back and forth. Out of the blue, last night. I received an email that was extremely religious, once again, asking me to pray in the name of Jesus Christ. I also read the comments from others on this site, who are for Israel, but many start quoting from the New Testament and proselytizing. I often wonder whether or not, these people feel that since Jesus christ was Jewish, that it becomes alright for them to "spread the word?" It seems to have become more prevalent, among the Christian supporters of Israel, on many websites. Does anybody have any ideas as to deal with this? I also might add that i am quite a tolerant person by in large. I can't stand trying to explain any more. I'm quite sure that these people don't mean to be "pushy", I don't know if they were told that they were, that it would stop them.
