While watching the Rockies today I noticed that Joe Torre's right arm was in a sling. What happened to it?

Perhaps watchdog's answer would have been funny if not for Torre's family history with domestic violence (he had an abusive father) and his tireless efforts to stop that horrible cycle both in his own family and for other children affected by it.
